There is no other sport that I identify with or love as much as I do baseball. I not only grew up playing the game, I went on to marry a baseball player and then proceeded to give birth to one.
And, like true baseball fans everywhere, I’ve been going through withdrawals ever since the World Series concluded last month. Spring training seems like a long way off right now. So, what’s a girl to do while waiting for the Cactus League to start? Simple…you incorporate baseball into your life in any manner possible while waiting for the opening pitch.
Case in point: Last week I was talking to one of my sons (the baseball player) about Thanksgiving Day plans. Eventually the conversation moved from family to business and I mentioned a new product that Axcient recently released called Cloud Continuity. As questions and comments went back and forth, we stumbled right into a baseball game…of sorts. I thought I would share with you our interpretation of Axcient’s product line from a baseball player’s point of view.
- Baseball = Clients’ data
- Catcher = Axcient Appliance
- Extra Innings = Business Continuity
- Error = Disaster Recovery
- Home Run = Cloud Continuity
- Baseball team = Complete Data Protection
The great Tommy Lasorda once said, “there are three types of baseball players: those who make it happen, those who watch it happen, and those who wonder what happens.”
At Axcient, we have one heck of a baseball team. You don’t have to wonder what type of players we are because we continue to prove that we are the team that makes it happen.
