I love baseball. In fact, it’s the sport I love the most mainly because of the subtle nuances that make up the game.  Whether you’re a die hard face painting fan, or a casual observer, you’ll notice the players and coaches making gestures with their hands. These are intricate signals to the players initiating certain actions on offense or defense. A missed sign could result in the wrong pitch being thrown, a defensive move missed, or an offensive blunder.

The Axcient appliance also has signs that help with the management of the service to make sure you’re not caught off guard. In the event log of the Axcient appliance you will find messages that report on success, failure, or warnings for configured backup jobs. It’s important that you monitor these messages so that when it comes time to restore critical data, it’s there, in good condition, not corrupted or incomplete.

I understand that browsing the event log on a daily basis could be a bit much, but by using the “configure alerting” option, you will receive email messages on the items that are most important to you, and ultimately your managed customer. To streamline the management of the service even further, Axcient has integrations with Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) and Professional Services Automation (PSA) tools, such as N-Able, Level Platforms, Autotask, and ConnectWise, to name a few.

  1. Use your existing RMM or PSA tool to monitor the Axcient service.
  2. Set up email alerting on the Axcient appliance using the configure alerting option.
  3. Monitor the event log.

Don’t miss the signs!
