x360Recover Geo+: Geo-Redundancy for US Partners
Today’s digital landscape spotlights backup protection for business continuity. Axcient’s latest upgrade to x360Recover is x360Recover Geo+, a geo-redundant approach to distributing IT infrastructure across multiple geographically diverse locations. Only available in the U.S., this opportunity can safeguard data and applications against localized incidents that impact physical locations.
Geo+ is designed to power reliable BCDR with Axcient’s Cloud and data center security. Beyond the promise of trustworthy BCDR, this almost-here tool accelerates recovery through backup availability in a different geo-redundant data center. While Axcient’s product development team continues refining the product, they released early access to groups of partners for feedback. After back-and-forth advice, experience collection, and bug fixes, Axcient has now released Geo+ to all partners, and it can be deployed in the x360 Portal.

What Does “Geo-Redundant” Mean?
Geo-redundancy refers to the strategic deployment of IT infrastructure across multiple geographically dispersed locations, including servers, storage, and network resources. For MSPs to guarantee business continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR), geo-redundancy duplicates and synchronizes data and critical services across different data centers in various regions.
A geo-redundant approach mitigates the risks of data loss and service downtime due to localized incidents such as natural disasters, power outages, or cyberattacks. If one data center experiences a failure, the redundant systems in another location can take over seamlessly, delivering continuous availability and access to data and applications. Geo-redundancy enhances business resilience, supporting rapid recovery and minimal disruption in the face of catastrophic events. These capabilities empower MSPs to level up from backup to business continuity while protecting against significant operational and financial impacts (and enhancing cyber insurability).
Why Is Axcient Developing x360Recover Geo+?
As a 100% channel-dedicated, MSP-only solutions provider, Axcient is committed to identifying and solving MSP pain points with efficiency, usability, and flexibility. Enabling BCDR stack consolidation, Axcient offers upgrades that complement x360Recover, Axcient’s comprehensive BCDR solution. Our latest offer is Axcient x360Recover Geo+, an affordable way to maintain sufficient copies of client data to fulfill the 3-2-1 backup rule according to industry best practices.
It can be difficult to securely supply client data copies without replicating to a secondary site, which requires additional costs and management. MSPs need redundancy to protect all critical systems from interruptions that could drive client downtime and data loss in the event of unexpected hardware failovers or localized disasters. Sending backups from a protected system to multiple locations is considered a best practice, but many SMBs struggle to achieve an effective structure due to cost and bandwidth. MSPs need a high-functioning, cost-efficient option for geo-redundancy, and that’s where x360Recover Geo+ comes in…
x360Recover Geo+ enhances data protection for critical client systems by adding geo-redundancy for backup data. Geo+ supports the safe transfer of backup data from one vault to another geographically separated site. This security super layer is currently available exclusively for MSPs in the United States.
How Does x360Recover Geo+ Work?
When a cyber incident or natural disaster affects the primary data center, Geo+ saves the day, storing critical client data securely and accessibly in a secondary site. Regardless of how data is lost – be it a fire, storm, flood, power outage, or other natural disaster or a cybersecurity incident, like a breach or ransomware attack – Geo+ minimizes downtime and potential data loss to keep businesses running.
x360Recover Geo+ replicates backup data within the encrypted Axcient Cloud from one geographically located site to another, preventing the need to create multiple backups directly from the protected system. With this method, MSPs protect customer bandwidth by reducing the load on their network. Not only does this significantly lower costs, but it reinforces protection for proactive, always-on business continuity.
Cloud backup data is automatically replicated to geographically separate Axcient data centers within the U.S. Additionally, Geo+ supports both deployment options in x360Recover: Direct-to-Cloud hardware-free backups and appliance-based backups replicated to Axcient’s Cloud, supporting MSPs with flexibility regardless of deployment infrastructure. Moreover, for high usability and easy adoption, Geo+ is simple to enable and manage directly within the x360Recover Manager at the client or device details level. MSPs can easily streamline these processes using a familiar interface and integrate Geo+ into existing workloads to reduce cost and accelerate speed.

Key Features and Benefits of x360Recover Geo+
While geo-redundancy can be achieved with other vendors and solutions, most rely on redundancy and uptime requirements, making costs variable, hard to control, and impossible to predict. Conversely, x360Recover leverages proprietary Chain-Free image-based backups to enable pooled storage at a flat fee per device or server. To limit site losses from becoming backup catastrophes, MSPs must plan high-level geo-redundancy at a price and structure that supports scalability and ease of use.
Geo-redundancy is necessary to avoid a total data loss incident in which a company maintains its backups and production in the same environment. When a natural disaster does occur, and it will, MSPs can breathe easy knowing their business data is stored separately from afflicted systems. The following seven best things about x360Recover Geo+ highlight what else MSPS can do with the new capabilities.
- Data Resiliency and Recovery Assurance: When disaster strikes the primary data center, client data is safe and ready for recovery in the secondary site – reducing downtime, preventing data loss, and maintaining smooth business operations.
- Best-in-Class Data BCDR Protection: Provide clients with the highest level of data protection and recovery capabilities, creating confidence that even during a disaster, data is accessible and useable, fulfilling a critical component of the 3-2-1 backup rule.
- Customer Bandwidth Protection: Transfer backup data between your existing vault to a secondary site within the Axcient Cloud to avoid needing multiple backups directly from the client’s system – consolidating and alleviating the strain on networks and conserving bandwidth.
- Geo-Redundant Storage: Utilize innovation with cloud backup that automatically copies to a data center in a different geographic region within the U.S. – ensuring high availability and dependable data recovery, even during regional disasters.
- Cloud and Appliance Backup Support: The tool works with both x360Recover deployment options – cloud and appliance-based – so MSPs can choose the best infrastructure for each client, regardless of budget, size, and future goals.
- Risk Mitigation and Client Satisfaction: Minimize or prevent potential downtime and data loss with best-in-class strategies to build customer trust and loyalty through SLA, 3-2-1 backup rule, and compliance support.
- Quick and Easy Enablement: Move fast by activating and managing Geo+ in the straightforward, familiar interface within x360Recover Manager. This makes onboarding, training, and usage efficient and user-friendly.
- Cyber Insurance: Redundant backups and geographically redundant copies of your backed-up data can make you a more attractive customer to a cyber insurer and get you better terms.
