Axcient's Roadmap for 2024

Axcient’s Roadmap for 2024: Comprehensive BCDR with MSP Flexibility

As MSPs take off on a new year of possibilities, goals, and unknowns, ensuring that your solutions and vendors can keep up is essential. It’s a perfect time to evaluate your current stack and identify pain points that could create barriers to implementing new strategies and achieving expected outcomes.

To give you an idea of where Axcient is headed this year, we’re outlining some highlights from our 2024 roadmap. With a keen focus on delivering efficiency to MSPs, Axcient’s product developers are reinforcing data protection with expanded services. Keep reading to see what’s coming and learn how to take advantage now with early access.

Axcient’s Roadmap Vision

As a 100% MSP-dedicated solutions provider, Axcient is committed to serving MSPs and your SMB clients. Looking at the challenges facing MSPs, many need help to consolidate efficiently and cost-effectively while continuing to increase revenue. In response, Axcient continues to push the limits of what a single, unified solution can provide.

In doing so, Axcient’s roadmap is centered on four core areas:

1. Protect Everything ™

It’s not just our motto – it’s our purpose. Uninterrupted business continuity and rapid disaster recovery are critical for all systems, regardless of location, size, or type – including public and hybrid cloud environments. For MSPs to secure a wide range of client needs and remain competitive in the channel, they need comprehensive coverage. What enhancements are we working on to advance Axcient’s mission to protect everything? Coming in 2024:

  • macOS support (sign up for early access today!)
  • NAS protection
  • Microsoft Teams backup and recovery

2. Recovery First

Cybersecurity requires MSPs to confront the realities of data loss – it will happen. If you’re not prepared, it will cost you. Crucial to keeping businesses moving are the capabilities of your business continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR) solutions. To meet SLAs, MSPs need proactive, automated, integrated features that accelerate restoration with painless, low-risk recovery methods. A recovery-first mindset prioritizes streamlined disaster recovery procedures as a requirement for business continuity, a strategy for cost control, and a symbol of your commitment to protecting clients. Axcient is reinforcing a near-instant recovery time objective (RTO) with new…

  • Enhanced intuitive user experience features designed to unify cloud recovery
  • PST Export and SharePoint point-in-time restore for x360Cloud

3. Axcient’s Roadmap for Flexibility

Operational efficiency depends on the flexibility of the solutions in your stack. MSPs have peace of mind and stability when a single solution and vendor can expand services, accommodate new needs, and upgrade based on changing threat vectors. On the other hand, legacy products are rigid and have long grown stale to the market’s current demands. Further complicating efficiency are vendors catering to various audiences or navigating mergers and acquisitions that disrupt MSP services and support.

Axcient lets MSPs do more with fewer solutions and vendors by supporting choice within one product. Using x360Recover, you can choose cloud or appliance-based deployments, bring your own device (BYOD) or use ours, and bring your own cloud (BYOC) or use ours. Looking forward, we’re continuing to fulfill more use cases with new…

  • Extended distribution

4. MSP Experience

The efficiency benefits of flexibility can only be realized with a supportive, simple, and user-friendly experience for managing BCDR. Axcient solutions are secure by design with zero-touch deployment, proof of disaster recovery testing, automated backup integrity testing, and client executive summary reports. These innovations significantly reduce the resources MSP technicians require, allowing MSP owners to reduce tech team size and skill level for lower labor costs and increased profitability. To continue driving a positive, secure, and enabling MSP experience, Axcient is introducing new features for…

  • Geo-redundancy replication
  • Modern REST Public APIs (early access sign-up coming soon!)
  • PSA billing integration

Ride Shotgun on Axcient’s Roadmap to Realization

Due to Axcient’s laser-beam focus on MSPs, we’re constantly creating and launching new features, and with early access availability, Axcient partners get first dibs. Axcient’s roadmap and product development process relies heavily on our MSP partners’ input, feedback, and experiences. Early access facilitates communication between real users and technicians to develop new products and continue iterating to reinforce security, usability, and multi-purpose outcomes.

Now that you know where Axcient’s focus is and what we’re developing, look at some early access opportunities and what’s coming sooner rather than later.

Early Access Registration Now Open: x360Recover for macOS

Last year, Axcient expanded our protection surface to support Linux BCDR, and this year, we’re continuing that expansion with x360Recover for macOS. In keeping with our drive to protect everything, Axcient is responding to the growing trend of SMBs requiring BCDR for multiple operating systems – specifically to protect and backup macOS devices. According to one MSP survey, 65% of MSPs expect the use of Apple devices among customers to grow in the next year, and 76% of MSPs report an increase in the number of Apple devices in their fleets.

With this new coverage, MSPs can attract new clients without introducing a new product, new vendor, new admin responsibilities, and new technician knowledge. It’s just one more use case that Axcient can solve within a single platform. Backup and recovery for macOS-protected systems is the next Axcient’s roadmap release in Q1 of 2024for x360Recover soon, but Axcient partners can sign up for early access now. Learn more about installing the macOS agent, requirements, features, and support parameters, and get ready to expand your services.

Early Access Registration Opportunity: x360Cloud for Microsoft Teams

Axcient x360Cloud backs up and restores Microsoft 365 data in Exchange Online, OneDrive, and SharePoint, including all files, folders, and document libraries. This year, we’re broadening coverage to include Microsoft Teams conversations. Based on partner feedback about client use, backup requirements, export preferences, and recovery of conversation data, Axcient product developers are constructing mockups and prototypes to respond accordingly. And we want to hear from you!

Contribute to Axcient’s roadmap support plans and gain early access to conversation backup and recovery in x360Cloud by taking this two-question survey. Survey respondents will be offered early access before anyone else and may be selected for a follow-up conversation to elaborate. These individuals will receive a $25 Amazon gift card for their additional time and insight. So, let us know how we can help you protect Microsoft Teams conversations…

Coming Soon in Axcient’s Roadmap: Public APIs

One of the most impactful stops on the roadmap this year is Axcient’s launch of public APIs. Also known as open APIs, public application programming interfaces are available and shared freely to enable speed by eliminating redundancy. Technicians can build on existing APIs to seamlessly integrate your tech stack to pull information from x360Recover easily. Public APIs unlock a new ecosystem for x360Recover users by giving techs the power to write to the product instead of relying on Axcient to complete integrations. Not only do public APIs drive productivity through efficiency, but the integrations reveal new insights for intelligent decision-making across the MSP.

Axcient currently offers internal APIs for internal RMC to pull up protected backup information, but with public APIs, MSPs will have access to a much larger pool of API enablers. Stay tuned for updates on early access registration in March 2024 and general availability later in the year.

Coming Later in Axcient’s Roadmap: NAS Backup

While this one is still in the hopper, it’s being worked on as we speak. Built on our macOS foundation, network-attached storage (NAS) backup provides additional security for larger volumes. Keep your eyes peeled for more as this functionality becomes available.
